DAV Transportation Winter Volunteers

Fall is here, and that means our winter drivers and volunteers are starting to plan to head south. It also means an increase in the number of patients that need our services because of winter weather. If you have any time to spare to help drive or volunteer in one of our offices, please contact us. The more hands we have helping, the more veterans we can serve.

Unbelievably, we are already making plans for the 2020 vans that will be purchased early in the year. As with each year, we rely on donations from chapters, units, members, and the community. These vans increase in price every year, and with every changing VA requirements, the length of time we can continue to use the vans continues to get shorter. Safety is our #1 priority, and in order to continue serving those who need us, please consider DAV Transportation when making your yearly donation. If you are aware of any businesses or corporations looking to support a cause, please reach out to us.

The vans purchased in 2019 have hit the road and miles are already accumulating. It’s always a great feeling when you’re driving down the street and you see a DAV Van because you know that a veteran is heading to the VA for care that they need. You also know that someone behind the wheel is giving up their time in support of DAV! We appreciate everyone’s support for helping us purchase the new vans for 2019. We have a top- notch program in Wisconsin!

I am retired and available to help with transportation some of the time. Let me know if there is a need in my area. I live in Pierce County.
