DAV Vans continue to serve veterans during pandemic

Many services and activities are being curtailed during the coronavirus pandemic, but DAV Vans continue to operate for patient with essential medical needs.

All DAV Transportation Offices are being promptly updated by VA as the situation changes.

At the Milwaukee VA, the drivers and passengers waiting room has been moved to the South Entrance for more ventilation. The regular waiting room is a closed space. Patients are being screened by the Milwaukee VA Medical Center preappointment and also by the drivers before they become van passengers. Upon arrival they are screened again by VA.
Many daily activities such as exercise, nutrition, mental health, and other
programs have been canceled by the Milwaukee VA. Elective procedures have also been canceled. Only essential appointments and procedure are being done.

All DAV van drivers have to do a thorough wipe down of the vans before and after each pick up. Special emphasis is given to door handles and seats.

The DAV Transportation Program at the Iron Mountain VA has been shutdown. All others continue to operate at a reduced ridership.

DAV continues to serve our veterans during this time of peril. Thanks go to our volunteer drivers for they are true heroes!
