Thank you so much for voting me as State Commander. I am humbled and honored and promise to do my very best to be worthy of your confidence.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Elizabeth Honaker and I’m a member of Russell Leicht Unit #3 Green Bay. I have been a member since 2009. I am eligible through my deceased husband, John Honaker, U.S. Navy, who passed away in 2016. I was born and raised in Atlanta, GA, and have a bit of an accent. I worked in banking until I moved to Quinn, MI, to take care of my grandchildren so my daughter-in-law could attend college. I later moved to Red Wing, MN, then to Green Bay. I love living in Green Bay and have found the people to be so warm and caring. My church family and my friends are very important to me, as is the Auxiliary.
I am so proud to be a DAV Auxiliary member, and I can’t say thank you enough to our men and women who have served and are serving our great country. When you look around the world and see the poverty and problems some countries are experiencing, we know we are blessed to live in the United States and we have the freedoms because of our military.
As your State Commander I promise to do my very best as your leader. I look forward to visiting our units and meeting the members.
God’s blessing on you, our veterans, and our great country.
