S. 346/H.R. 164 would permit veterans who have a service-connected, total and permanent disability to travel on military aircraft in the same manner and to the same extent as retired members of the armed forces are entitled to such travel. DAV Resolution 090.
H.R. 235, the Veteran Emergency Medical Technician Support Act of 2013, sponsored by Reps. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) & Lois Capps (D-CA), was approved unanimously by the House of Representatives on Tuesday, February 12th. The bill would provide demonstration grants to states with a shortage of emergency medical technicians (EMTs) to streamline state requirements for licensing military veteran EMTs and prevent unnecessary duplication in their training. H.R. 235 is now in the Senate for its consideration. DAV Resolution 194.
H.R. 288, the CHAMPVA Children’s Protection Act of 2013, would allow children eligible for CHAMPVA to continue coverage up to age 26. DAV Resolution 222. (WI Co-Sponsor – Rep. Ron Kind and Rep. Mark Pocan)
H.R. 303/S. 234, the Retired Pay Restoration Act, would end military longevity retirees forfeiting some of their retired pay to receive equal amounts of VA disability compensation. H.R. 333,Disabled Veteran Tax Termination Act is similar. DAV Resolution 019.
H.R. 411 would require VA to establish a registry of certain veterans who were stationed at Fort McClellan, AL. DAV Resolution 218.

H.R. 569, Veterans’ Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act of 2013 would increase the rates of compensation for veterans with service-connected disabilities and the rates of dependency and indemnity compensation for the survivors of certain disabled veterans. H.R. 570, American Heroes Cost-of Living Act would provide for annual cost-of-living adjustments to be made automatically by law each year in the rates of disability compensation for veterans with service-connected disabilities and the rates of dependency and indemnity compensation for the survivors of certain disabled veterans. S. 294/H.R. 671, Fairness for Survivors of Military Sexual Trauma Act, would improve the disability compensation evaluation procedure for veterans with mental health conditions related to military sexual trauma. DAV Resolution 204.
H.R. 562, VRAP Extension Act of 2013 would amend the VOW to Hire Heroes Act of 2013 by providing a 3 month extension of the Veterans Retraining Assistance Program (VRAP) through June 2014. DAV Resolution 001.
S. 6, Putting Our Veterans Back to Work Act of 2013 would amend the: (1) VOW to Hire Heroes Act of 2013 to extend VRAP through March 31, 2016 and (2) Wounded Warrior Act to extend the VA authority to provide through 2016 the same rehabilitation and vocational benefits to members of the Armed Forces with severe injuries or illnesses as are provided to veterans. .DAV Resolution 001.
S. 140, Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business would extend the work opportunity credit to certain recently discharged veterans, to improve the coordination of veteran job training services between the Department of Labor, Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense, to require transparency for Executive departments in meeting the Government-wide goals for contracting with small business concerns owned and controlled by service-disabled veterans. . DAV Resolution 193.
H.R. 42, Military Health Care Affordability Act would extend through FY 2015 the prohibition on increasing cost-sharing requirements under the DOD TRICARE and pharmacy benefits program. . DAV Resolution 209.
