Wisconsin DAV National and State Advocacy Initiatives

DAV fights for the rights of ill and injured veterans on Capitol Hill and at the Capitol in Madison. Our biggest event is the DAV  Mid-Winter Conference held each year at the end of February in the Washington, DC area. The Conference includes:

- DAV National Commander’s testimony before a Joint Session of the House and Senate VA Committees.
- WI DAV’s Legislative Presentation to the Washington Offices of Wisconsin Legislators on Capitol Hill.

In Madison, DAV closely follows legislation and will testify at Public Hearing on behalf of injured and ill veterans when needed. We meet periodically with the Governor’s Office, key legislators and WDVA to discuss legislative issues.

State Advocacy

DAV empowers veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity.

We provide free, professional assistance to veterans and their families in obtaining VA and other government benefits earned through service. We offer free rides to veterans who need help getting to and from VA medical appointments. We fight for the rights of wounded, injured and ill veterans on Capitol Hill in Washington DC and at the Capitol in Madison.
